Farm to port

Seven steps, one company.

Moyica exports directly from its own plantation. Nobody buys the lot on our behalf, and nothing changes hands between the tree and the bill of lading.

01
01. Nursery — Moyica Coffee

01. Nursery

Seedlings are raised on our own nursery site, established in 2017, and planted out only once they are strong enough to hold their own under the forest canopy.

02
02. Plantation — Moyica Coffee

02. Plantation

Grown under shade with 100% organic fertiliser. For over five years before the first export, the plantation was the only thing we worked on.

03
03. Collection — Moyica Coffee

03. Collection

Cherries are picked selectively, by hand, when ripe. Collection focuses seriously on quality — underripe and overripe fruit is left behind, not averaged in.

04
04. Drying — Moyica Coffee

04. Drying

Sun-dried on raised beds and turned by hand. The drying process always follows the standard set by the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority.

05
05. Store management — Moyica Coffee

05. Store management

Store management and storage facilities adhere to international standards — bagged, tagged, moisture-checked and stacked clear of wall and floor.

06
06. Grading and documents — Moyica Coffee

06. Grading & documents

Each lot is graded, sampled and documented before release, so what is on the tag is what is in the bag.

07
07. Shipment — Moyica Coffee

07. Shipment

Trucked from Kaffa to Addis Ababa, cleared, and shipped to your port. Thirty-one containers since 2023, mainly to the Middle East.
